Marine Abstract Art
Earth has been called the Blue Planet, in recognition of the oceans that cover the vast majority of its surface. This vast blue space, also known as the Seventh Continent, promises unknown treasures in resources for the needs of an ever expanding humanity.
Since becoming aware of the world around us, our collective conscious has been occupied by the wonderment of the world beneath sea level. Abstraction of this imagination stimulates the mind to draw lines around thoughts and functionally, enhancing the thought process. Production and perceptions of the imagination result, and new technology and art is born.
My lifetime spent in the underwater environment has stimulated works that attempt to capture the phenomena of the marine experience. Using my photography as a reference, I combine the intimate psychological effect of diving with elemental colors, shapes and forms to represent the diver's experience.
Electronic technology has provided futuristic painters with a palette to achieve new marine abstract visions, combining reality with fantasy, in new paintings which radiate as if harmonized in a song.
